Last Night marked the last Vegetarian Formal of Lent Term, but not the last of 2011. I have taken the decision, in consultation with the JP Green Rep, Food and Bar Rep, The Parlour Committee and the College Environmental Committee, to continue the Monday night veggie formal until the end of Easter Term.
From next term, the Monday night veggie meal will be themed on the cuisines of China, Mexico, Italy etc, to name but a few. This new initative will hopefully take the focus away from Monday being a meatless meal, and instead highlight some interesting dishes you've might not have tried; anyone for ensalada nopales?
Last night's meal featured the following menu.
Watercress, New Potato and Avocado Salad
-o-
Gingered Sweet Potato Spring Roll With Coconut Chilli Cream
-o-
Goats Cheese, Pine nuts and Oven-Roasted Tomato Charlotte
Goats Cheese, Pine nuts and Oven-Roasted Tomato Charlotte
Wilted greens and Anna potatoes
-o-
Vanilla Crème Brule, Pistachio Cake and Passion Fruit sorbet
Bon Appetite!
That is great news!
ReplyDeleteThe Vanilla Crème Brule, Pistachio Cake and Passion Fruit sorbet was amazing - more desserts like that please!
ReplyDeleteShifting to international themes is a good idea but I don't see it being enough to convince me to book in for Mondays, sorry. While it may be dressed up a bit, it's still meatless and I can't see that ever being desirable.
ReplyDeleteI am however looking forward to the beef tonight. :)
Great news!
ReplyDeleteWooooo! It must be because we organised "Veggies do Veggie Formal"! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! The Veggie formal halls are great! I think that part of the reason attendance might not be as high as hoped is that its on a Monday night, which isn't too popular for formals anyway. Keep up the great work!
