On Friday evening, the Formal Hall menu featured one of the best beef dishes I've tried in a very, very long time.
However, before we get to the beef, I'll briefly describe the fish starter. We coated fresh plaice goujons in Panko-Japanese breadcrumbs and served them deep-fried with minty mushy peas and tartare sauce.
Vegetarians enjoyed carrot and coriander goujons.
For the main course we served fillet of beef brochettes marinated in garlic, red chilli and olive oil, before being char-grilled and served with deep-fried sweet potato and an orange and herb rice salad. This tasted amazing, especially when dipped in the tasty peanut sauce! You'll see this again, sooner rather then later..
For the sweet we served coconut pannacotta with white chocolate granta, black olive caramel and mango puree; just your normal Formal Hall dessert!
Bon Appetite!
